Valley, successfully secured this contract with East Renfrewshire Council for the provision of lighting upgrades and associated trades at Eaglesham Primary School and Thornliebank Resource Centre through open market tender process via Public Contract Scotland.
The project consisted of the complete supply, installation and commissioning of a new emergency lighting system. Works included cabling services, containment system for emergency lighting and emergency lighting – Smartscan System. External Street Lighting, Removal and Installation of new suspended ceilings, internal fires doors, ceramic tiling and decoration to walls and woodwork.
At pre-start meeting we agreed works would be carried out in the primary school during the Summer break whilst pupils were not on site, requiring a quick lead in time which was fully achieved. We were able to mobilise quickly, due to our directly labour delivery model.
Full turn key solution for Project Delivery
The Resource Centre was scheduled to commence once the school was complete, in a rolling programme approach, accommodating the Authority’s request. The Centre remained fully operational throughout the duration of the work. Valley worked closely with the centres facilities team to ensure business as usual was maintained.
Led by Contract Manager, Mark Pacitti we assigned 6 fully qualified Electricians, all 18th Edition and Asbestos trained. All front-line staff and operatives must also hold current ECS/ CSCS cards and are full Disclosure checked. Many of our operatives also hold asbestos enclosure qualifications. Due to the nature of our work, which often takes place alongside members of the public we have inhouse robust customer care training, this focusses on essential behaviours, working alongside vulnerable groups and Safeguarding.
Valley have a direct service provider (DSP) relationship with Corkerhill Construction and CC Décor, we have partnered with them for many years and on previous multi trade projects. The DSP model means that our partnership is seamless for clients and service users as all operatives are trained to the same high standards, wearing the same Valley branded clothing and PPE.
This project was successfully delivered on time, to programme, within agreed budget and to full client satisfaction. Feedback was excellent and all KPI’s achieved.
